(Singapore, ad-wow.com, 22 Jan 2008) Singapore and Moscow are in the final race to host the inaugural Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in 2010. Both cities have emerged as the finalists after overcoming stiff competition from Athens, Turin and Bangkok.
This great news was announced by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on Monday evening, much to the delight of the Singapore's 2010 YOG Bid Committee, who gathered at Sentosa to await this first-hand result. More than 300 corporate sponsors and students also turned out and showed their support for the bid to bring the first ever YOG to Singapore. "The citizens' support for any Olympic Games is very critical. To host the Olympics, they want it to be successful. That's why every single individual, every man in the street, and their show of support is important," said Mr Teo Ser Luck, advisor to Singapore's 2010 YOG Bid Committee and Parliamentary Secretary of Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports.
As we await the IOC's final selection of the YOG host city on 21 February 2008, let's show everyone that Singapore is ready to welcome the youth of the world for the YOG in 2010, and make history together! AdWOW! is in full support of Singapore's dream to host the Youth Olympic Games 2010. Let's make it happen!
